In tests with a decibel meter, SoundCatcher™ reduced the volume of the trumpet to just 15% of the original volume - 115dB down to 85dB.
Our perception of decibels means that the loudness doubles with every 10dB increase.
To illustrate, this means that:
85dB is 2x as loud as 75dB.
95dB is 4x as loud as 75dB.
