Frequently asked questions
Q: How much does the SoundCatcher™ reduce my volume?
A: In tests with a decibel meter, it reduced the volume of the trumpet to just 15% of the original volume! The numbers behind that are that it reduced the decibels from 115dB down to 85dB. Loudness doubles with every 10dB increase. To illustrate, this means that:
95dB is twice as loud as 85dB.
105dB is four times as loud as 85dB.
115dB is eight times as loud as 85 dB!
The SoundCatcher makes a MASSIVE difference.
Q: How big is the SoundCatcher?
A: The SoundCatcher is just under 12”W x 12”D x 12”H
Q: How do I set up my SoundCatcher?
A: We include a QuickStart guide in every box, outlining a few simple steps:
Set up the included stand, pulling the lever on the mounting receiver out. Attach the mixer tray mount to stand.
Put the SoundCatcher onto the stand, making sure the mounting plate is fully seated in the receiver. Slide the locking lever back to secure the SoundCatcher to the stand
Plug the microphone cord into the back of the SoundCatcher, and into channel 1 of the included mixer. See the diagram below for recommended settings, but you can adjust the mixer to your own personal preferences
Plug your own headphones into the 1/8” Phones jack on the mixer
